On completion of the Pre sea training, a Marine Engineer goes out to sea and starts his career. To progress in this profession one must take periodic examinations to upgrade ones level of competence. Click on the link to view the Career Flow Chart

To ensure that engineers prepare for these examinations in a systematic manner and ensure no gaps are left, the Director General of Shipping has approved some training institutions to conduct this 3 or 4 month training programme. CIMeT is approved for both the Class 2 and Class 4 preparatory course.

Class 4 Engineer Part A - Preparatory Course - 3 Months (Pre-sea) (DGS approval not required)

Class 4 Engineer Part B - Preparatory Course - 3 Months

Class 2 Engineer Part B - Preparatory Course - 4 Months

Class 1 Engineer - Preparatory Course - Under approval.
